Thrifting I Did Go

Guess what!!!
My new dishwasher is officially inside my house! AND the old, yucky, nasty, non-working one is GONE!!

There are possibly some complications, but I don't want to get into that right now. Instead, let me tell you that thrifting did indeed show up in my cards yesterday. Since today is Thrifty Thursday, now's a perfect time for me to share with you what I scored.
Some jewelry that is likely to be re-purposed.
These items all came from what was a MASSIVE bag of craft supplies. After weeding out what I didn't want and giving some to the nieces, this is what I brought home.
These type vases can be found at just about any thrift store any time. I was bound and determined to find some so I can try out this really easy technique to alter them into some super cute vases.

I'm a little distracted right now. So, take a look at the newest necklace in the shop.

  1. I like your necklace - those colors look great together. And I really love the way those vases you linked to look. I can't wait to see how yours look when you're done :)

  2. Heidi,
For some reason I always pair a turquoise or aqua when I work with anything close to an orange tone. Dunno why. It just seems to work.

I'm hoping to try to make those vases in the next few days. Of course, I'd like to find a few more so I can do a bunch of different colors. Of course, I'll show them off when I get them done. (good or bad)

  3. Love the idea for the vases! I've done the same type of thing for clear glass Christmas ornaments (except I used several colors and swirled them for a marbelized effect - very cool). Don't know why it never occured to me to try it on something else...Adding a trip to the flea market to my weekend task list!

  4. Oh dear. I hope these turn out better than my attempts at the Christmas ornaments. Mine we AWFUL! I never could get the swirl down and the colors all cracked and faded. They were almost gross looking. eek!

Best of luck at the flea market!

  6. Patty - Goodness! I'm so excited about mine. My mom told me horror stories about my step-dad installing theirs. But Pat did just fine getting mine in.

Yeah! I think I got a deal on it. . maybe. I can't decide if I like it too much to cut apart or not. Hm.
