Thrifty Thursday Haul

I've backed off on some of my thrift shopping lately as I have plenty and really just need to use it. But, I did find a few things at a thrift store and a few more at an estate sale in the past week or two. I'll share a peek at both hauls with you here, but if you're interested in seeing it all in more detail, I do have a video (at the bottom of this post).

This first little set was found at a local thrift store.

And, these treasures came from a large estate sale.

Like I said above you can learn more about what all this is in the Thrifty Thursday haul video

If you know what some of the questionable items are or have any questions for me about these hauls. just give me a shout!

Thrifty Thursday Haul

I did just a little shopping over the past couple of weeks and brought home a few thrifty finds. Keep in mind, that for me, thrifty isn't just what I find at thrift stores, estate sales, and yard sales. It's also any deal I find - sales, clearance, dollar stores, whatever! In any case, here's a peek at some of what I scored.

Estate Sale 1

Estate Sale 2

Gifted items

And, there were a few more items too. You can see it all in the haul video.

Have you found anything good lately?

Thrifty Thursday Haul

This past week, I did some serious shopping. But, for the most part, it was all "thrifty" - reduced prices, inexpensive items, or actual thrift pieces. It's always fun to share these somewhat unique finds and deals. You'll find a whole video of what I got at the bottom of this post, but here are some peeks.

At a thrift store, I picked up a few grab bags - one with children's books, one with small toys, and one with craft items. I was especially excited about the bezels in the craft bag. I've already used one of them for one of my 100 Day Project mini assemblages that was also part of my Honey Do List reveal

I scored this cool lantern at the same thrift store. That rusty top just makes me swoon!

I found that the local Hobby Lobby stores have been marking down some of the jewelry and paper crafting items that I like, so I hit up a couple of them to take advantage of those great clearance deals.

The first one mostly had more paper crafting items marked down.

At the second one, the jewelry section was full of orange stickers.

The hubs and I went to an estate sale at the home of some creative individuals.

There were woodworking and art supplies to purchase. We were both interested in this hobby area of the home and found a few things each.

In addition, I picked up several items at Dollar Tree that will aid in my creative endeavors. You'll have to watch the video to see what those were, though.

Almost everything I picked up feels like a treasure, and I can't wait to use it all. Have you found any thrifty deals lately too?

Thrifty Thursday Haul

There's a new Thrifty Thursday haul video up on the YouTube now (I'll share it below.) Here are a few peeks at what I've hauled home over the last several weeks.

First, Pat and I had a bit of a staycation day one Saturday and went down to the beach for lunch before driving over to Pensacola to do some thrifting and antiquing before enjoying another nice meal. I didn't find much, but there were a few scores.

I spent a total of $2.50. And, the tins are pretty and the hammerhead will probably end up in an assemblage.

I'm always running into Dollar Tree for one thing or another. And, I can't help but poke around to see if there's anything new and interesting. On my latest trip, I came home with this little stash.

The fabric was in the Plus section for $5, but, y'all! These prints were just too cute to pass up.

Then, it was time for a local monthly estate sale. And, I was pretty happy with my treasures from there too.

I found so many unusual and fun bits. You probably just need to watch the video to see it all!

So, have you found any thrifty treasures lately? I'd love to hear all about it.

Latest Thrifty Haul

Usually, I share these posts on Thursday for Thrifty Thursday, but the day got away from me as I was out thrifting. 🤦‍♀️ I did get some fun pieces yesterday that I'll show off next week, and my video did go live. But, if you're one of my hardcore blog readers, you might have missed out on that. Here's a peek at some of what I reveal in the video.

The pieces I picked up for this haul were from a yard sale, the free bookshelf at the library, and the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. If you want to see everything, here's the video.

Now, I need to start coming up with ideas on how to use these treasures.

Have you brought home any awesome scores or deals? I mean, it is the season of sales and shopping!!

Thrifty Thursday

Although I've been trying to organize and purge the craft room this week, I still hit up the thrift stores and estate sales. WHAT WAS I THINKING!? (And, I've already hauled a few more things home. sigh.) Here's a peek at some of my treasures.

These were from a local charity shop that's often hit-or-miss.

Speaking of hit-or-miss, Goodwill has been a little bare lately. But, I did stumble on these containers that needed to come home with me. That glass jar is already mostly full of buttons.

On my FIRST trip to the estate sale of a fiber/quilt artist, I picked up these few things.

This is what I brought home after my second trip to her house. There were lots fewer people and a better chance to look around (hence the reason I went back two days later.)

Here's a better look at the buttons I got from her craft room. The jar of buttons was the most expensive thing I bought. I'm pretty sure it was worth it.

There was at least one other haul I didn't include a picture of, so you may want to watch my Thrifty Thursday Haul Video to get a better look at everything.

Let me apologize for having two thrifty posts in a row. I've been busy cleaning and working on a new mixed media challenge (of my own design) that will begin on Monday along with handling household responsibilities. I'm trying to balance it all, but I don't think it's working out so great for me. Hopefully, I can get back into the groove of blogging and find a routine soon. Thank you for taking the time to head over here.

Have you been thrifting lately?

Thrifty Thursday (a day late)

I had planned to share some of my thrifty haul with you yesterday, but the day absolutely got away from me. This was partly because I was out thrifting. 🤦‍♀️😳 But, this is my blog, and I don't suppose it really matters except to me. And, really, it wasn't anything spectacular, just some retail store items I got at good prices. Here's a peek at some of it.

And, if you're interested in seeing it all, you can watch my haul video for Thrifty Thursday

Let me know if you've found any good deals lately!!

Thrifty Thursday - Estate Sales, thrift stores, dollar store, gifted

Over the last several weeks, I was fortunate enough to get to pick up a few treasures at reduced to no prices! These thrifty items came from estate sales, thrift stores, the dollar store, and a friend/relative's kindness.

Here are my thrift store finds.

And, here's a peek at just some of the haul I made at one of the estate sales.

Alright, here's a bit more.

And, my cousin/friend (it's hard to explain - we were raised together like cousins and are sure there's some distant, common relation; but we have no idea what it is) gave me a whole pile of old jewelry she found.

You'll get a better look and explanation of all of the thrifty haul as well as several more items in my Thrifty Thursday Haul Video

Now to actually take some time to create something from all (or at least some) of these treasures. Do you see anything that sparks inspiration for you?

Thrifty Thursday - December Thrifty Haul

A few days before I took a tumble and broke my ankle, I actually got in a little thrifting. Two local antique stores had their monthly estate sales that I was able to visit. Just take a look at some of my scores!

For a better reveal at ALL the treasures I brought home, you can watch my December Thrifty Haul video here or on YouTube.

So, did you find anything good in December, or were you more focused on the holidays?

Thrifty Thursday - July Thrifty Haul

As a treasure hunter of sorts, I've always got my eyes trained for the unexpected and special. And, what's more special than a good bargain? Each month, I like to share the steals and deals I found in the previous month. Let me tell you, this is a GOOD ONE! (I may have said that last month too, but I'm not teasing about either of them.) I found some fabulous items at a yard sale held by local artist friends. Take a look.

The husband was purging most of the supplies he had collected for his Steampunk artistry. I hate that I couldn't take more than I did. But here's a sample of what I did pick up.

And, here's the rest of it.

My July Thrifty Haul video gives you a better look at most of these pieces as well as a look at what I bought from the Dollar Tree on one trip.

And, that's really all the thrifty bits I picked up in July. I honestly did try to find more. But, it was a busy month with other commitments and activities so that thrifting wasn't at the forefront.
Tell me, have you scored any great deals lately?

Thrifty Thursday - June Thrifty Haul

Hey, y'all! If you don't know by now, I'll remind you that I adore picking up items I can use in my art for a great deal. I shop thrift stores, dollar stores, yard sales, antique markets, clearance aisles, and anywhere else where there's a bargain to be had. I love to share my excitement over the treasures I've discovered in a haul video each month. And, today is the day for that video!

Today, it's a long one as I scored BIG TIME at a local antique store's monthly estate sale.

As well, there were a few pretty sweet finds at my local Goodwill.

I also found a few fun clearance items at Hobby Lobby and scored some things at a couple of antique stores. It was a good month! Watch and see in my June Thrifty Haul video.

So, have you found any treasures lately?

Thrifty Thursday (April's Thrifty Haul)

I found a few great deals and steals over the course of April and forgot to take a single picture. As such, I'm just going to share April's Thrifty Haul video with you and leave it at that.

Let me know if you had any good finds lately too!

Thrifty Thursday - tiny but mighty haul

I do love a good deal and/or finding a special treasure at a thrift store or antique mall. This past month, I didn't have many opportunities to go treasure hunting as I was trying to stay safe. But, I did luck up with just a few items that I'm crazy over!

You can watch the video at the end of the post to see other details of what I got but, above is the gist of it. While at Southern Antiques and Accents to care for my booth, I walked around the antique mall for a little while and found both some flashcards and a box of awesome (more on that in a bit.) I ran into the Dollar Tree afterward for a few supplies and brought home a set of sweet valentine fabric bags.

Now, for the real diamond in the rough!

This beautifully rusted box was tucked into the same booth as the flashcards and simply labeled "Railroad Box".

Inside was a bounty of typed and handwritten papers from the '40s.

(I put them in file folders myself to sort them.)

Here's a look at just some of what was in there.

I have to admit that it wasn't until after I filmed my video of the haul that I realized that the paperwork was from the Gulf, Mobile, and Ohio Railroad (GM&O) - where MY GREAT-GRANDFATHER WORKED IN THE '40s!!!! I've gone quickly through most of the papers looking for his name, to no avail. But, it's still so cool.

I was worried that my husband would chide me for buying a metal box full of papers. So, I told him that I would cut the box up for jewelry if I needed to.

He informed me that I would do no such thing, "That box is too cool to be cut up." Yay!

That's all there was for January. But, less can be more. And, this was such an awesome haul! Here's my January Thrifty Haul video on YouTube if you want to see me show off these treasures.

Have you found anything good lately?

Thrifty Thursday (November Thrifty Haul)

I've not been doing much shopping lately (at least not for thrifty-crafty items) partly because of the virus, and partly because Christmas is so close. I did pop out and score a few things in November at a couple of shops. You can watch my November Thrifty Haul video on YouTube to see what I found!

I doubt that I'll have a haul video for December. I'd love to know how you're staying safe and still feeding that need to thrift. Are you using sites like eBay and Etsy, have you stopped cold turkey, are you taking loads of precautions, or do you have other methods? Let me know!

October Thrifty Haul

This past month was absolutely all over the place. I did pop into the thrift store a couple of times but found no treasures. The bulk of my few thrifty finds were from Tuesday Morning and the Dollar stores.

However, if you're interested in seeing what I found, I did create a quick video showcasing what I brought home.

I'd love to hear if you've had any luck finding some good deals or interesting products. Let me know in the comment box below!

Thrifty Thursday (September Thrifty Haul)

Between the storm and all the work after it, there wasn't much time to do much shopping in September. However, I did pick up a few thrifty bits while out for other errands. Here are a few of my favorites.

At the thrift store, I found these.

I lucked up on a small collection of these Fossil Watch tins. Initially, I only bought a few of them but ended up going back for the rest.

I also found what looks like a vintage sheet (though it may not be) and several small lampshades for a steal.

Oh, and there were these two BIG bags of ribbon for practically nothing.

Of course, I can't pass up deals at the Dollar Tree either.
I got these two shades of "creepy cloth" at the start of the month. I thought they might add some nice texture in my art journaling. Now, I just need to use them.

There were also several sets of these stickers that celebrate little accomplishments for adults. They totally tickle me!

And, I even bought some Halloween supplies that I used and transformed into something fun.
I saw a glimpse of this project online and knew I had to make a set of Fairy Skeletons. They were so very simple too!

I found several other steals as well, but you'll have to check out my September Thrifty Haul video to get a better look at them all.

What about you? Found any good deals lately?

Thrifty Thursday - August Thrifty Haul

I'm always looking for deals. With trying to not be out and about much, it's hard to find them. But, I had a little luck (over the course of August) at the Dollar Tree, Five Below, a local thrift store, Hobby Lobby, and a gift from a friend.

Of course, I made a full video showing off my whole August Thrifty Haul.

But, here's a little peek at some of my finds.

I had a few minutes to run to Hobby Lobby and Five Below for a few deals: cardstock on clearance, remnant fabric, and alcohol markers.

From there, it was a quick trip around the corner to a church thrift shop where I racked up on more linens.

Toward the end of the month, one of my best friends brought me this massive bag of crafty supplies that she got from a friend of her mom's!

You'll have to watch the video to see everything that was in the bag, but the above items were my favorites.

Other than a few things from the Dollar Tree, I think that was it for my thrifty scores. How about you? Find/get anything good recently?

Thrifty Thursday - July Thrifty Haul

This post almost didn't happen. I actually waited until the last three days of July to do any kind of thrifting, but then I just couldn't take it anymore.

Initially, I just wanted to get out of the house and walk around so I went to a large antique mall. However, I didn't find much. While there, I kept feeling pulled to a certain small charity shop. So, I gave in even though it was pouring rain.

I unearthed this treasure trove of linens and lace, all for less than ten bucks!

Since I felt like I was in a good groove, I headed over to Goodwill for a quick walk-through.

I scored a couple of unique tins and some butterknives. The tin in the front was packed full of old Uno cards. I originally thought that I would re-donate them, but instead, I'm using some of them as bases for my #SouthernGals5Min challenge on Instagram.

The Dollar Tree is in the same shopping center as Goodwill, so it had to be visited too.

I picked up a few crafting materials along with some other odds and ends.

I was itching to hit up a couple more stores a town over, but the weather made me wait to see how I felt later. The following day, I was raring to go and visited three more thrift stores. However, only the first one had anything I needed to bring home.

This sweet deal on books had me digging through the bins.

And, there were a LOT of bins.

I was digging in them for a while.

And, I got TWENTY BOOKS!

I also found this little tin of buttons that I couldn't pass up.

I was fairly certain I was done for the month when I had a few minutes while picking up lunch to run into Five Below and found this steal on fountain pens.

So far, they're working pretty well for me. I know they're not fancy, but great practice for when I decide to try real ones again.

Oh, and I can't help but share some of the funnies from my thrifting adventures. First, there was this puzzle.
Something about the timing of it tickled me.
While in the same store, I saw an elderly gentleman pick up a Shake Weight and giggle over it. Seriously. It was a good thing my face was hidden behind a mask!

There were a few other finds that you didn't get to see in this reveal, but they are in my July Thrifty Haul video along with a look at ALL the books!
So, were you able to get out any over the month and thrift? I'd love to know what you found!

A little something new

I cannot believe it's been over a year since I chatted with you. I'm so sorry! I'll admit that it feels like I've been pull...
