Spring Break 2012 (I get to do it twice!)

The girls have really kept me busy, but I've still got a day and a half to try to keep THEM busy. Here's just a sampling of what went down yesterday. (Via Instagram)
There was a trip to the beach in the morning
Tree climbing in the afternoon
Playing with thrifted toys in the evening
In addition, we did some shopping, baked cookies, made dinner, cleaned up, played video games, picked blackberries, and even squeezed in some crafting. I'm hoping I have more ideas for today! Eek!!

Oh, have you seen the awesome giveaway Lori is having over at Pretty Things? You really oughta go see how you can enter to win these!

Also, I re-listed this fun bracelet the other day.
Mechanical Breeze Bracelet

I've got the girls currently engaged in a little Lego Harry Potter on the Wii so I've got some time to rest while we wait for the day to warm up. If you've got any activity ideas, I'm all ears!

My Internet Rant (TRT and Valentine's Day)

OH DEAR GOD!! Do you have any idea how hard this has been on me?
You know the part about my laptop dying and me not getting it back until Monday. However, I didn't even get to come home straight away last night as there was a certain 8-year-old who needed help writing a book report on Sacagawea. (my spell check says that's the wrong spelling, but after staring at the word for three hours last night, I KNOW that is how it's spelled in the book.) Once I got home, it was entirely too late to deal with setting it up. I knew I was planning on working at home and I could take care of all of it today while I worked. WRONG! Mediacom was doing some work in our area and we had NO INTERNET. I repeat, NO INTERNET!! I got no work done, I got no laptop setup done, I WAITED! Finally, I am back online and wondering how I am going to cover all of what you've missed.

So, I think I'll do this post with all the links I want to share and then another post with some pictures of my lovely weekend and other stuff.

Can you handle it?
Oh well, here we go:

"Totally Random Tuesday" links

Some Valentine links as well. I'm trying to give these out as much as possible as time is closing in for the big V-Day.
Enjoy those and I'll start working on the next post. Pardon no pictures here. Check out the next one!!

Gobble, Gobble

For several reasons I write again today:
1. I doubt that I will get any time to post tomorrow (with the Macy's Parade, lunch with the in-laws, and dinner with my family)
2. I've been saving Thanksgiving links and have forgotten to share them (and need to get it over with before it gets too late)
3. I just love you guys

While this isn't a very long list - I wanna share. So here are some Thanksgiving links (from me to you)
  • For the kiddos in your life, One Pretty Thing has offered a list of a variety of Thanksgiving crafts, just for the younger set.
  • While most of us don't get the opportunity to go out and kill our own Thanksgiving meal, here's a tame turkey shoot game. It's really pretty fun and I'm not usually up for shooting games.
  • Lastly, Popular Mechanics made this list of practical ways to prepare your home for the holidays. It seems pretty useful, if I actually had people coming to my house during the holiday season.
Now go out and enjoy your Turkey Day.
Happy Thanksgiving!!

Techie Tuesday is Back

Wow! It sure has been a while since I've posted for "Techie Tuesday" The original intention of this "theme" was to give out some information about technical/geeky items of interest. However, if you've found my blog, you probably know more than I do. As such, I want to gear Techie Tuesday to a simpler idea of just posting some of the geeky-coolness I find.Last week, I mention going to dinner with some of the ladies from my Mardi Gras Room. While discussing Wii games, one lady mentioned the Five Minute Marios Bros. I found a video of it on YouTube and find it simply amazing. I personally never finished the dang game in the first place. Shows how much of a geek I am I guess (NOT!) Now I finally know how to rescue the princess.

A little something new

I cannot believe it's been over a year since I chatted with you. I'm so sorry! I'll admit that it feels like I've been pull...
