September Thrifty Haul

It's about time I shared some of the items I got last month at thrifty prices. There weren't many purchases at all. I only found a few things at Hobby Lobby, Goodwill, and a Rummage sale.

The small amount I brought home probably doesn't even warrant this post, but I couldn't bear to break my streak! Since there were so few items, I'll simply share the short video I recorded to reveal my haul.

I'm excited that I've actually broken down all the tins from Goodwill and used the two items I found on clearance at Hobby Lobby already. So, I know that they're not going to waste!
Have you scored any good deals lately?

  1. The tins look great. I am waiting to see what you make with them. I am curious to know how you make the first cut on a tin box. I am scared to try cutting one. Is there any tutorial on your site that shows that first step?

    1. Divya,
Thanks! Lately, I've just been cutting down the tins to store easier. I don't have a tutorial on cutting them down, but that's a fabulous suggestion for a tutorial on here. I may work on that soon. I'll try to explain simply here. I start with a pair of heavy duty tin snips to get over the first roll of the top edge and cut down next to the seam. I use to then cut around the base but have discovered that I can unroll the base with a pair of heavy duty wire snips. This really helps to reduce waste. It's probably a lot easier to show in a video. I'll work on that soon! Thanks for the suggestion. In the meantime, just let me know if you have any other questions.
