Mixed Media Thank You Cards
This time of the year, there's a lot of focus on giving thanks and showing gratitude as American Thanksgiving is at the end of the month. Pondering the subject of thanks, I recalled that there had been some interest in my handmade thank you cards some months ago. I create these cards from thrifted blank cards, scraps of paper, and other general craft supplies and use them to include personal notes of appreciation to those who purchase jewelry from my Etsy Shop. While I don't plan on selling cards, I thought it was the perfect time of the year to share how they're created.
I fully admit that the main thing that makes these thank you cards special is that they are completely handmade.
I did make a video of the process of making these Mixed Media Thank You Cards.
But if you're in a rush, here's a quick rundown.
Stamp your sentiment in the center of your card.
Frame the sentiment by gluing down scraps of paper.
Use colorful paint through stencils to add accents.
Add more interest with black and/or white paint and stencils.
Stamp onto the cards to give them a little more texture.
Finally, use a combination of pens, pencils, and markers to doodle a few last accents.
And, that's it; beautifully handmade and one-of-a-kind thank you cards.
Of course, this method could be used to create any kind of card, but I love the idea of thank you cards to show gratitude.
And really, what's better than knowing that you're appreciated?
I appreciate you taking the time and interest in how to make these cards and wish you all the best in creating your own. Thank you.
