What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday (WOYWW)

I've been overflowing with ideas lately - for jewelry, for blog posts, for papercrafting-art journaling and thus I seem to get nothing done for jumping from one activity to the next. I think putting some of my jewelry in that display has really given me some kind of new freedom or something. Now, if only some of it would sell!!

Anyway, I'm playing along once again with Julia from Stamping Ground and all the other creative folk for What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday.
This is today's desk. On the bottom left is my bullet journal waiting for me to make my daily list. Above it is some jewelry I'm making for another possible local opportunity for selling. On the bottom right side of my desk are some supplies for a postcard swap I'm participating in. The postcard is actually hidden under the messy deli paper (shhhh). Along the back of my desk is just the stuff I need to clean up and put away.
Yesterday my desk looked like this
A bracelet I was making from old earrings and pins
And, Monday morning I walked in to find my desk like this!
GAHHHH!!! I was a chaotic crafter on Sunday!!
I'm much happier about the shape of my desk today since there's only a couple of projects to focus on. Do you function better with just one or two projects on your desk or do you like to have all the options there at once?

Make sure to hop over to Stamping Ground and see what's going on on other craft desks across the world.

  1. It doesn't matter how messy your desk is as long as you enjoy what you're doing.
The jewelry looks lovely. I'm sure people would want to buy that.
    Have a great week,

PS I'm thinking of our fellow desk hopper Shoshi today who's operation has been postponed yet again! I can't imagine how she must be feeling.

    1. Lisca, I am having a great time but sometimes it's hard to enjoy it when it's EVERYWHERE! Thank you for your sweet comment and for stopping by! As soon as I saw your comment I stopped and wished Shoshi well. Thank you for the heads up! :)

    1. Stacy, Ah yes. . .but somehow I decided to work backwards with my time lapse. I don't know what I was thinking other than Wednesday's desk needs to go first since it's Wednesday. Ah well, , ,whatever. Oh, and thank you! :)

  5. Thank you for visiting earlier today :) You have a very creative desk there. I usually have quite a few things going on at the same time. I like working on different things or at least prepping them and then I can concentrate on one project at at time to finish off. Anita #58

  6. Cor, that's a bit of a transformation, isn't it! Lol! I function best with only one project on my desk. I can get carried away with far too much stuff and then I get frustrated because it's a mess and I can't find anything! Thank you for your lovely comment, and for your prayers. I was very frustrated on Monday when I heard about the postponement, but feel much better about it now - it simply can't be helped, and I am hoping to hear something by the end of this week, and ideally be in next week but nothing is certain. I am sure my surgeon will pull out all the stops to get me in asap now, after having put me off twice. I just want it over and done with now. In the meantime, there's nothing like kitties to keep one going!

    1. Shoshi, My desk is ever evolving... and there's hardly ever just one project on it. Alas, I do indeed get frustrated and can't find items. However, I do that even if I'm working on a project in my lap on the couch! Ha!! Wishing you all the best and lots of kitty loves! :)

  7. My workspaces end up just like that at the end of the day too! What is it with us creative people? I'm trying to make a "lifestyle change" where I spend a few minutes before bedtime putting things away before I leave the studio...It's worked for a couple of weeks now. Stay tuned! lol
I have enjoyed reading your posts lately and it does seem like you're doing a lot! Just enjoy it all, and I'm sure your jewelry will start selling soon! It's just now getting warm where people will get out and go shopping.

    1. Judy, Yours looks like this too!? That makes me feel so much more relief. However, I can't seem to put things away before bed, I actually often have things to finish the next day. Of course, that wasn't the case yesterday so I came in to a mostly clean desk this morning. It was nice. . .hmmmm. . .
As for my posts. yeah. . .I tend to undertake too much at a time. I've always been like that; working best under pressure - until I have the inevitable breakdown. ;) I actually got word that one of my bracelets sold and a necklace was on a lady's wishlist so we'll see how it goes. I'm trying not to go up there too much. It'll drive me crazy if I do. . .and I might end up buying too much. Ha!
      Thanks so much!

  8. I always have many things on the go as I like to knit or crochet in front of the tv, sew when I have more time and dabble in all sorts when I get the urge. I always have a huge list of things I want to do. Your jewellery looks lovely - hope you sell it soon. Thanks for visiting

    1. Famfa, I definitely need to find more tasks to do when I'm in front of the TV. Right now, that time gets spent blog-hopping. Which I think works out in general but both require so much brain power that I never quite pay enough attention to either. Oh well, I'll figure it out one day. I have a huge list too (and it involves learning to knit and crochet!) Thanks for you kind words and your visit as well.

  9. It looks like you had a great crafting day Sunday! I like the idea of putting the vintage jewelry together to make a bracelet! I can work on 2 or three projects at a time especially if drying time is involved. But I can really only have one thing in front of me at a time.If I am waiting for something to dry I have to put it on another table. While I am not into jewelry making, I got some beads on a garage sale with the intention of using them in a stitched journal or prayer flag. Problem is I have no idea how to bead. Diane #43

    1. Diane, Yes. . .Sunday I was all over the place. One craft led to another to another and it just got out of control. It was very "If you give a mouse a muffin" but "If CraftyHope decides to age some metal" instead. I think the drying/waiting time is how I get myself in trouble too. I have no patience so I start or work on something else. Before I know it, there are projects everywhere! Good luck with the beads. There are tons of tutorials and how tos out there. I'm self-taught as well!

  14. My space is always a mess! The clutter gets on my nerves some times then I clean it up and can't find a thing!

  15. Ooh, I love that bracelet you are making - I love collecting old jewellery from charity shops and junk fairs. I'm afraid I'm a one project on the desk at any one time person, and I also constantly tidy and put away during the project, even stuff I know I'm going to need again shortly - I think it's called OCD! Thanks so much for stopping by earlier and for your good wishes, I hope you have a great week,

  16. Lee, Ha. It's such a conundrum isn't it? I really do work best without the clutter, but the mess happens so fast! And yes, cleaning it up always does confuse me. I dream of a craft room with lots of storage, everything labeled neatly, and all within reach. . .one day maybe! ;)

  17. Your jewellery is beautiful, I'm sure it will sell like crazy. I can have a painting in a shop for months and then all of a sudden sell heaps in a week. I always work in mess as I have around four paintings on the go at any time, so different colours/products around etc. I'm sure one day I'll start painting a bird on a fish painting cos I've forgotten which thing I'm working on :) Plus I like to draw in my journals, so they clog up the desk. Your bracelet is really gorgeous. Have a great week,

  18. That bracelet is fab - I love the fact it's made out of recycled vintage stuff. I'm sure that'll sell quickly :-) And we both share messy desks this week..woohoo....but I can't share the bullet point list making though. That's just never going to happen. I don't do lists :-)

  19. Love the bracelet! So Brilliant! I can't work in a mess either, although I make a hot mess while I'm working, I have to start and end clean and organized, it helps my creative side stay focused...

    1. Jenna, Thank you! I love working with old, broken, and forgotten pieces to make something beautiful. I definitely do better when everything is clean and organized but sometimes I'm in such a creative frenzy that I can't stop long enough to clean. It gets OUT OF CONTROL around here may times. Glad you were able to pop in! :)

  21. Your bracelet is gorgeous! I also love recycling (upcycling?) old jewellery, but haven't done much of it lately, certainly nothing as pretty as yours :)
And I always more than a few things on the go at once. Quite frustrating at times, but what can you do? :)

    Loving your bracelet.

  23. Love the bracelet, great idea. Thanks for the visit and you are right it is a very tiny desk. Don't think I have ever been in a hotel where the desk is so small. Maybe they think we should not be needing a desk as we are on holiday, obviously they are not artists or crafters!! have a great woyww, Angela x 28

  24. I love that colour of ink - I bought me a similar colour Stazon a while ago ('teal blue') and am very happy with it! As you could see on my deskphoto (thanks for the visit) I am a 'tidy' person and don't have much projects on my desk... just the one I work on and maybe one or two on the side. 1. Marit, Yeah. . .any shade of blue is a favorite of mine too but the teals really steal the scene for me. Hey, you do keep a couple on the side so that's encouraging. One day I might get to be tidy but it's doubtful! ;) Thanks for popping in!
