About Hope

I’ve been a collector as long as I can remember - picking up rocks, shiny bits, shells, rusty metal pieces, and anything else that captures my attention from the time I was a kid.  Being creative, using my imagination, and keeping my mind and hands busy have always been central. However, I never considered pursuing those passions as a career.

Instead, I earned a BS in Psychology at Spring Hill College and went on to work with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities for many years. I even had a short stint as a website copywriter before gaining the freedom to follow a more creative path.

While I’ve explored many art forms, I have been honing my jewelry-making skills for over 25 years and define my style as romantic, rustic, fantastical, and bohemian. I especially enjoy incorporating my collections of found objects, vintage jewelry, and unusual thrift finds into wearable and assemblage art that is mostly one-of-a-kind.

Over the last several years (more than I probably realize), I’ve developed a passion for non-wearable mixed media art. This includes art journaling, assemblage pieces, and the like.

My love for the outdoors and capturing the bits of beauty I discover there means that I’m always taking pictures to share on social media.

I live on five acres along the Gulf Coast of Alabama with the love of my life, my husband (Pat); our cat (Artemis); and our dog (Kaylee). We call our magical piece of paradise Sliverlox.

You can shop my designs and some materials online in my Etsy store as well as in person at Hello Gallery in downtown Fairhope, AL.
